NDP Petition

In launching the 2005 Canada Fraud Awareness Month. Emerson went on to add: “… This is why it is so important to educate all Canadians not only how to recognize instances of fraud, but also how to then report it and, ultimately, put an end to fraud.”

Crawford books as NDP public awareness materials reflect experience of reporting allegations and seeking justice from a system that seemingly has little to give.

That is why we ask you to sign a unique NDP petition and vote NDP for a ‘Responsible Lending Act’:

Advocacy Politics:

I never imagined I would appear in media photographs as a compelling advocate in a political campaign.

Being in debt to a ‘Sitting Duck’ loan concentrates the mind wonderfully. And eight years in one sided litigation provides time enough to reflect on dream laws and politics for hungry bankers.

Oakville victims of ‘Identity Theft’ and ‘Bogus’ loan applications want an antidote to ‘The Perfect Sting’: That lenders consign peoples’ credit in legally binding contracts to create debtors, and uses the same law again to make paupers from heavy-handed writs with collection and home repossession orders.

A Chief Executive of Retail Banking denies it and resigns. www.tonycrawford.org

Liberal and Conservative Prime Ministers ignore it … Our Premier and Provincial Ministers ignore it …

No Debates. No resignations. They want you to reelect them to the corridors of power … In Oakville today, your choice includes a banker said to know how things work.

Still, it’s only a story. Right? Is your money safe as houses? Would you like to be sure?

Petition to resist: Then vote they desist …

You could sign an NDP petition for an investigation into predatory lending practices. We could deliver it to Queen’s Park. We could leave it to politicians with no interest in ‘Identity Theft Protection’.

Would that fix the problem?  Still wondering? … Would you rather be really sure?

In that case, you should vote for an NDP candidate … with a job to do.

VOTE TO END PREDATORY LENDING.

Just imagine … an MPP with a mandate for an investigation into lending practices … with clear goals for consumer safeguards, and Ontario’s own ‘Responsible Lending Act’.

Many thanks … Tony

To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:

Whereas there is a reported ‘epidemic’ of fraudulent loans involving notarized ‘Affidavits’ by/from loan handling lawyers’ ‘Affiants’ that claim debts will be carried by other peoples’ creditworthiness and/or equity in property.

And, whereas Banks, financial institutions and lending houses claim innocence in that they rely on third parties to perform potential debtors’ ‘Identity validation’ and ‘Financial due diligence’ in cases of loans and mortgages they approve on the basis of third party representations …

And, whereas it is perfectly legal for Banks to readily approve loans they consider financially risk free using third party ‘Affidavits’ that make debtors of people who are completely unaware, uninvolved, and never see the money.

And, whereas by way of example people have signed their support to reopen a quashed OSC investigation:

We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:-

That an investigation concerning ‘Identity Theft’ be conducted into Banks, financial institutions and lending houses’ ‘Lending Policies, Practices and Procedures’ (as per reopening OSC File # 20050316-17043) to identify weaknesses in the law and lending system procedures for appropriate amendments to the law to strengthen specific areas of responsibility for potential debtor’s ‘Identity validation’ and ‘Financial due diligence’ that will safeguard peoples’ wealth and equity in property
from fraudulent loan applications specifically in cases of third party representations using notarized ‘Affidavits’ by/for loan handling lawyers that may benefit themselves and/or their ‘Affiants’.
